The Business Retention
and Expansion Program (BREP) represents a public/private partnership
between the Economic Development Association of San Joaquin County, the
Chambers of Commerce, and local businesses. Each share the same commitment
to provide the business community with the support and assistance necessary
for success.
Its
purpose is to foster business growth and prosperity in the San Joaquin
County area. The goal of the Business Retention and Expansion Program
is to foster the growth and prosperity of local business which results
in the creation/retention of jobs in San Joaquin County. The BREP Program
and its professional staff offer information and services regarding:
- Business
Planning
- Loan Packaging
- Exporting
and Importing
- Government
Procurement
- Accounting
Systems
- Identifying
potential customers and suppliers in San Joaquin County
- Providing
Employee Training and Hiring Programs
Addressing
the Needs of Local Employers
It is estimated that over 80% of all new jobs in San Joaquin County are created
by local companies. As the economic prosperity of San Joaquin County thrives
on revenues generated by local business, it is vital for the community to support
and assist local companies with their business needs.
Through
extensive surveys and interviews of over 2,500 local companies, BREP
identifies the problems and issues that impact particular businesses.
After this assessment, a task force is assigned to the design and implement
a tactical plan to solve the problem according to the specific company's
needs.
