"The Employment and Economic Development Department of San Joaquin County (EEDD) administers, employment and training programs under the auspices of the Workforce Investment Act. Since its inception, EEDD operating as WorkNet has assisted thousands of unemployed or underemployed individuals with training and job-related services. It has since expanded to include business financing and economic development services to the business community. This dual commitment has enabled EEDD/WorkNet to serve two customer groups - individuals seeking employment and local businesses seeking growth."
