Friendly Visitor - Visit assigned seniors at least once a week. Seeking volunteers to engage in good conversation, playing board games, writing/reading letters, sharing a hobby or interests, taking a walk. Volunteers are also needed to take seniors on outings (ie: a trip to the mall for shopping and lunch) when feasible, telephone seniors on a regular basis (2-3 times per week in addition to visits), and to be alert to any special needs or problems the seniors may have and report them to the main office. |

The hospital offers volunteers the opportunity to work in a variety or areas within the hospital and beyond, including its clinics and a number of community services. Volunteers receive a comprehensive orientation/training period in specific areas of interest, including: Gift Shop, Adult Day Care, Courtesy Desk, Business Services, Central Supply, TCU Activities, Pharmacy, Medical Records, Nutrition and Food Services, Aquatic Therapy, Patient Advocate and Cardiac Care.
All new volunteers are required to complete orientation, training, health and criminal background screenings.

Library Assistant: Helps to keep the books in the onsite library in order, advises the foundation when new books are needed, reads to children if necessary and decorates bulletin boards etc., during the holidays.

At SJGH, volunteers provide valuable services such as information desk, providing escort services, working on the nursing floors, assisting in the outpatient department, dismissing patients, working in various clerical areas, taking photos of newborn babies, working in the gift shop and "cuddling" newborns.
Volunteer opportunities also are available in the Auxiliary department, the Gift Shop, Theresita and Pastoral Programs. The Theresita and Pastoral Programs provide visitation and/or prayer to patients and their family. |

If you are interested in volunteering - please call the office to make arrangements.
For volunteers under 18 years - you must have an adult present during their time on our campus. Young people under the age of 18, without a parent or guardian over the age of 18 with them will be sent home.
For all ages: Appropriate dress is required in all departments.

Sorters, grocery clerks, clerical, customer service and intake.
Kitchen and Dining Room: Assists staff in preparing and serving lunch and preparing sack lunches. The kitchen is open 7:30 am - 3:00 pm. Assist dining room staff with daily maintenance chores: cleaning, serving hot meals from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm.
Men's Clothing and Hygiene: Assist with sorting and distributing clean and usable clothing.
Women's and Children and Hygiene: Assist with sorting and distributing clean and usable clothing.
Medical Clinic: Volunteer doctors, nurses and clerks are needed.
Dental Clinic: Volunteer Dentists, dental hygienist and clerks are needed.
Administration: Assists with website renovations.
